I received a GED-COM tree from another family member that I wanted to add to my existing tree, so I exported the tree I have on here, merged the two in Reunion 9.0 on my Mac, and would like to now import the new tree.

However, you can not do that easily. Is there a feature that I can remove my tree completely and start over using the same account? I can ask the 4 other people to delete themselves, but that may take too long because someone may update the tree between now and then...

I am looking for suggestions on to do this with the current site, and would like to see you implement a feature to allow the importing of trees in the future.

Thanks!
Guilio

That's a good question. I've been mulling how I'm going to handle a similar situation.

We're currently working on a feature that allows adding a tree to an existing tree.
If you have any problems with the deletion of your tree, please write us an email to info@itsourtree.com. Please note that we will only delete non-active profiles, active relatives would have to be asked to delete themselves.

Greetings,

the itsourtree.com Team

This has been since march, how come you still don't have such tree-merging feature?

This will be a good addition to have. I currently have between 1500 - 2000 people in my entire tree... adding them all would just be too big a mission to even contemplate. I like this site very much, but adding functionality which allows for uploading GEDCOM's into the system while at the same time making sure that new information for existing people get's merged instead of being readded - this may require a more complex developed solution come to think of it... not a simple 1-2-3... so I can understand it won't happen in a day but I look forward to having this functionality available in the (near?) future...
