Shame its Windows only :( especially as your web version makes heavy use of Java. Makes it unusable on Linux. Any sign of a cross platform version coming out soon?

Very nice program. Many of the fix's on the GEDCOM errors are in place. I cross reference the GEDCOMs with your program and PhyGedCom and your GEDCOM export does not automatically correct the birth order. Using PhyGedCom as a reference, I manually went into the Itsourtree.com site and changed the birth order from the 'profile' on the 'tree' .

I do commend you for recently fixing the birth order algorithm (according to the German site) so when you do correct the birth order, it remembers the changes.

I know this is version 1.0. I cannot wait to be able to handle the photos and photo tags without manually downloading every portrait.

Again, thanks for this additional tool.

One error is that you use MAI and OKT for the abbreviations for the month of MAY and OCT(ober). Probably German spellings. Unfortunately GEDCOM is English based and other programs do not understand these spellings.

Will the RIN number be able to refer to the photos? Can you display the ID numbers or have the option of displaying them? I label my portraits by the ID numbers viewed at the URL

When can you handle photos? If I attach each portrait to every GEDCOM, that means over 500 photos to manually connect to each GEDCOM.

The site changes quickly, with all the people who can make changes and additions. This changes the GEDCOM frequently. If there is a way to name each photo a certain convention, then the program can attach the photo to the correct profile automatically.

Hi Joey,

Regrettably, GEDCOM format itself does not support photos. We're working on a solution to that, but it may take some time.

Greetings,

the itsourtree.com Team

Dear Team,

Of course GEDCOM does not handle photos. It is an XML or TEXT file. However, your home program can control the path of where to find photos. Can you allow the RIN number to point to the correct photo file in the picture directory the user determines? The RIN number is unique to each profile. The portrait is unique to each profile also.

Also, MyHeritage.com how allows facial recognition. When will the on-line itsourtree.com incorporate that?

Doug
