To get to the poster configurator, click on the poster icon in the upper right corner of your family tree. The configuration and order of a family tree consists of 5 simple steps.
In the first step you set the central person for the poster. Your name is set as default, but you can choose any other person (e.g. Grandpa) as central person. Simply type in the first letters of the person’s name.
Then you have to choose between different tree views. Available are:
- (Partial)Family treeApplies to all persons that are visible in the person’s tree view.
- PedigreeApplies to all direct descendants of the selected person.
- Genealogical tableApplies to all ancestors of the selected person.
- “Hourglass”Combination of genealogical table and pedigree, from the selected person’s point of view.
Step 2: Wallpaper
In the second step you choose your background wallpaper. So far, there are five templates available, we’ll add more in the future.
- TreeThe profile nodes are displayed as leaves, the connecting lines are branches and in the background there is a tree.
- VellumThe profile images are in silhouette style, the background is an old vellum with frayed edges and the profile nodes are antique picture frames.
- dynastreeclassic dynastree look, resembling the family tree.
- CustomHere, you can set the colour, profile nodes and title yourself.
Afterwards, you can set a poster title such as “Doe family tree”.

Step 3: Profiles
The third step deals with the profiles’ looks. Profile images: yes or no, how to treat the birth names? Birthdays and obits on your printout? In the end you set whether wedding anniversaries and -icons are to be shown on the connecting lines.

Step 4: Format
In step four you choose the printout format. We offer the following formats/prices:
A2 (23.39 x 16.54 in): £ 19.00
A1 (33.11 x 23.39 in): £ 25.00
A0 (46.91 x 33.11 in): £ 45.00
Panorama “Generations” (62.99 x 35.43 in): £ 49.00
Panorama S (35.43 x 11.81 in): £ 19.00
Panorama M (31.50 x 17.72 in): £ 25.00
Panorama L (59.05 x 19.69 in): £ 35.00
Panorama XL (118.11 x 39.37 in): £ 85.00
Panorama XXL (177.17 x 59.06 in): £ 169.00
We recommend a size for every poster. On the right side, you see the entire poster and a profile node with a scale. That way, you can see directly what the family tree will look like on the poster format and the size of the profile nodes. If you switch off the photos in the profiles, a size of 0,7 x 0,8 inch is perfectly alright.

Step 5: Address and payment data
In the last step you enter a billing address and, if necessary, a delivery address. If you have a dynastree voucher you can enter it here, too. The total will automatically be reduced by the voucher value. Currently, dynastree accepts Visa or Master Card. At the end, doublecheck all data, especially the address and then click “Submit order!”.

You will then receive an order confirmation and an invoice via email. You can check your order status on your “Overview” page at any time.
