itsourtree.com has changed its name to dynastree

New logo dynastree

We proudly present our new name: dynastree. From now on, itsourtree.com will be called dynastree. You can now reach your favourite family tree / genealogy site by typing http://www.dynastree.com in your browser. The new name is easier to keep in mind and underlines the cross-generational aspect of the worldwide network. Of course, the itsourtree.com domain names will be working in the future, so you don’t have to change any bookmarks if you don’t want to.

Yes, it’s smoother to type in, but—-when I use dynastree, will I have the same password? Will I be able to start a whole new tree, my husband’ maternal line, eg.–with another password–and pursue them separately? If I have two trees going, can I transfer information from one to the other? Lots to imagine/think about!

The new name is much worse as far as telling people the name of the site, you’d have to write it down for people…and therefore I think it’s way worse. I’ll continue to use itsourtree as it’s easier to remember and easier to “give out” to friends and family.

    Thanks for your feedback!

We hope that y’all get used to the name and maybe like it in the future. :-)
@Margaret: Of course, the login and password stays the same, the database has not been changed, just the name. You can (and could) always start a new family tree using another email address of yours. We’re currently working on a feature to merge trees and hope to launch it soon.

    Greetings,

    Chris
