Got a BIG GEDCOM? Zip it!

package

Some people encounter difficulties when trying to upload their GEDCOM file, especially when the file is REALLY big and contains a lot of information on relatives and ancestors. If the server returns a timeout or any other error message, try to zip the GEDCOM file and choose the .zip file for the upload. The server will automatically unzip the file and continue with the GEDCOM import.

How about being able to store on a CD or DVD? When I try to save it now, it wants to go to my hard drive. Our file is so big (over 2,000 people so far) that I don’t want all of that on my hard drive. Or am I doing something wrong?
